6 Tips For Decluttering Your Bathroom

Your bathroom is a room that many people might not see. There could be clothes on the floor or hair bows laying on the counter. This is normally a room that gets cluttered very quickly because it is small. There are some simple ways that you can declutter the bathroom.

1. Throw It Away

If you don’t use something or you don’t need it, then throw it away. Those empty shampoo bottles and the old medication bottles can get tossed in the trash. Look through your cabinets to find things that are expired. Not only are these taking up room, but they could be harmful if you take them after the expiration date.

2. Keep The Expensive Items

When you pay a lot of money for something, you probably don’t want to hide it away. Keep these items on a counter where you know you will use them. If you see things from companies like The Art of Shaving in Skokie, then you will be more inclined to use them on a daily or weekly basis.

3. Storage

This is one of the easiest ways that you can declutter your bathroom. Use containers under the sink or on a shelf to place things like hair bows, brushes and other items that are similar so that they don’t get lost in the room. You can also get a cabinet to go against the wall for your towels and a rack to go over the back of the toilet to keep accessories like electric shavers and hair dryers.

4. Decrease The Same Things

If you like to stock up on items when they are on sale, of if you use coupons to get several of one kind of item, then it might be time to look through these and get rid of some. You can donate the items to an organization that needs them, or give them to family members who can use them.

5. Cosmetics

When you buy make-up that is on sale or simply because you like the color at the time, you might decide later on that you don’t need those items. Make-up also has an expiration date. Check your cosmetic case about once a month to see if there are any items that you want to throw away. You can also keep your cosmetics in a plastic box so that items are not everywhere in the room.

6. Clothing

One of the things that you might do is throw your clothes on the floor until you wash them. One way to keep them off the floor is by putting a hamper in the corner of the room.

Even though it is one of the smallest rooms in the home, you should still keep the bathroom neat and organized. Guests might have to use the restroom when they visit. This is also a room that harbors more mold and mildew because of the water from the toilet and shower, meaning you should keep items off the floor and thrown away as often as possible.
